I’ve heard about both laser and IPL before, but what’s the difference?
Both methods are types of long-term hair removal designed to stop hair from growing back. IPL, which stands for intense pulse light, is a system of hair removal which is light based, where pulses of light are emitted through the skin to the hair follicle to damage it and lay it dormant. Laser uses concentrated, precise beams of light to contact the follicle, meaning it can seek out the follicle directly without losing efficiency by travelling through the skin first. This also means that unlike IPL, you can effectively enjoy long term hair removal, even on darker skin tones.

While both of these methods of hair removal yield great long term results, laser is more efficient at targeting specific follicles and can also be used on a wider breadth of skin and hair types. Because the laser beam does not travel through the skin to reach the follicle, it is able to be used on darker skin types as the melanin in the skin doesn’t block the laser from reaching the follicle.
