Star Wars Light Side 7000 Series Electric Shaver with Travel Case is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reasonable shave This razor replaces a similar model bought 6-7 years ago. The old one gave excellent service over many years of shaving both my face and head. This new model also works quite well and reduces stubble to a smooth finish with minimal / no trauma. I like the flexibility of each rotor but the rotors of this new shaving head tend to catch on sharper contours, e.g. around the chin where the inside edge of the rotor can sometimes snag on my chin. (I answered "No" to the earlier question about recommending, not because it's a bad product but because I rarely make this sort of recommendation about any product.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shaver I've had I must admit that I've only used inexpensive electric shavers as I didn't know what the big deal was with the fancy pricier ones. I mean, how much better could they shave? Its just a shaver, right? Wrong. Shaving with a cheap shaver is like driving without suspension. Sure, it will get the job done, but the comfort wont be there. And considering how much of our time is spent shaving, its a good idea to incorporate some comfort into the daily routine. In my view, the best part of the Philips 7000 series are the SkinGlide rings. If you use a cheap shaver, multiple passes over the skin will, eventually, cause skin irritation. This doesn't occur with the smooth SkinGlide rings. It is a pleasure to shave with. The trimmer is a separate add-on, but it is very easy to separate the shaver head and plug in the trimmer. The shaver head easily plugs back in, plus you can rotate the head to ensure an even rotation, in case you shave with one of the rings more than others. I have only used it as a dry shaver and been very happy with it. If you are on a tight budget, a basic Philips will do the job, and reasonably well. But if you can stretch it out a bit, I highly recommend you get a good shaver from Philips, like the 7700. Your face will thank you for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product would be a great gift for any star wars fan, it also delivers in design and functionality. As an older star wars fan I was very pleased with the mature nature of the overall packaging. I really liked the simple black box with its subtle logo and the little snippets of background information on the Jedi. The package contained everything except for the carry case which I was disappointed about. The razor looked sleek and the colours reminded me of Anakin Skywalker's pod racer. Which is a good thing. The illuminated symbols on the handset were a nice touch but I wished they did something more, for example change the speed of the blades. The razor felt comfortable to hold but felt more like a Star Trek phaser rather than a lightsaber but that's just the geek in me. The shaver head glides over the skin very smoothly with catching any hair. Charging was easy and quick and cleaning was simple too. I haven't used an electric shaver for many years and my experience of them wasn't good but this was a pleasant surprise. I tried shaving wet and dry and for me the best result was wet. The wet and dry function is a big plus. The small trimming head is a good idea but I found it to be clumsy to use and lacked a little precision and didn't glide over the skin like the razor head. I think that accessories should mirror the same standard as the main product (that would be the Jedi way). Overall my experience was very positive but I like a very smooth shave. The razor shaves well and at face value looks to give a comprehensive shave, no sign of stubble or very importantly; no shaving burn but its not as close as an open blade razor. That said, it's a good shaving option.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok but not great Need to press hard to get a decent shave. No better than my previous Philips shaver which is quite a few years old now. The stars wars stuff is just on the box / packaging. It is just a standard shaver inside. Holds its charge well so far.

I worked for Philips from 2002 to end 2007. I have used Philips Philishave Shavers, only since I was19 years of age and am now 77 Years of age, 78 on JAN 15. 2108. Do I still qualify for a staff or ex-staff discount. Regards. Beresford Noel carl

Asked by: Noel
Hi Noel, Yes of course you do! No sorry, I wouldn’t actually have a clue you have come through to a fellow customer. Perhaps try giving the Phillips head office a call in the new year and asking them directly then. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Years! Oh and a Happy Birthday for the 15th Janurary.
