Product Description

This trimmer offers full metal blades that lets you achieve exactly the 3-day stubble, short beard, or long beard look you want. The integrated hair lift comb raises hairs for efficient one pass even trimming results.

Series 5000 Beard Trimmer is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! Since buying an older model of the Phillips beard trimmers and loving the time and money they save me I was sure it was my best ever purchase. Not to mention my girlfriend getting annoyed every time I was clean shaven. That one was not water proof and took 6-8 hours to charge. This one charges much quicker and you can run it under water!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth even trim After writing an unfavourable review of the Philips QT4015 trimmer (which I returned to my retailer for a full refund) I decided to purchase the Philips BT5205 trimmer. The selling point for me was the 0.4mm trim in the specifications. I used this trimmer with trepidation and was half expecting a poor performance as with the QT4015 model. The two models are polar opposites and I was really pleased with the performance of the BT5205 model. It glided over my face and provided a smooth even trim first time over. This trimmer easily maintains my stubble and is an absolute joy to use. It only takes an hour to fully charge, and can be used both cord and cordless. This trimmer is also completely water proof. Philips have redeemed themselves with the BT5205 model and I highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick charge, great results For such a reasonable price, I was very impressed with the qualitya and performance of the Series 5000 Beard Trimmer. I just got rid of a very thick beard in under 60 seconds, no dragging, no pulling. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All the features, excellent value for money I was looking for a trimmer that was showerproof, had a lithium battery and didn't require regular oiling. This one fit the bill. As soon as you take it out of the box, you get the feeling that it's a polished high quality product. The adjustable dial made it really easy to maintain the beard and precisely choose the length without fiddling with various sized combs. It has a lithium battery meaning it charges quickly and the battery will maintain a charge over time. It cuts through thick hair without a problem. I can quickly clean it without being precious because its waterproof. Well designed high quality product. Some have said there were issues with the shape of the comb fitting when you trim around the upper lip / mustache area but I didn't have this issue at all. Only thing I don't like is that the comb fitting feels a little cheap when compared to the rest of the product. It performs perfectly fine but feels like it could have been made out of a more durable plastic. It would have been great to also include a ear/nose trimmer piece to this kit too, that would have completed the package for me. In saying that, the current 2018 models on offer don't compare to this one. 8/10. High recommended.

Hi Is this trimmer rechargeable and if so, are the batteries AAA size? Many Thanks

Asked by: Amanda
It is rechargable but it does not use AAA batteries. It uses an internal battery and it comes with a charger for it.

Can you detach the comb guide and use the trimmer without it if the guide isn't close enough? I am seeking to replace an old VS Sassoon i-trim stubble that has well and truly died.

Asked by: Bragg
Hello There, Thank you for your question. The come attachment can indeed be detached from the trimmer. Kind Regards, Shaver Shop

I've been seeing a lot of reviews for the Philips Norelco 5100 trimmer that looks exactly like this. I was just wondering if they use the different name in America or is that a newer model they have access to? They use model number BT5210/42. Cheers

Asked by: Jacko
Looks exactly like the one I bought. It’s a BT5205. Great razor by the way.
