How does it work?
• Gentle pulses of light are applied
• The melanin in the hair absorbs the released light pulses
• The light produces heat in the hair, which is transferred to the hair follicle
• This stimulates the hair follicle to go into a resting phase
• As a consequence the hair sheds naturally and hair re-growth is inhibited
Skin types and body hair colour
Light-based depilation can work for most adults.
Light-based depilation is not effective on very light (light blonde, red, grey and white) body hair or suitable for black skin.

Philips Lumea is suitable for most men &women.
However, all light-based depilation methods are not effective on light blond, red, grey and white hair. and not suitable for black skin.
2.On which areas of my body can I use the appliance?
Philips Lumea is specifically designed for removal of unwanted hair from the body, excluding the face.
Treatment time and battery recharge frequency varies with the application area though.
3.Is the treatment really effective?
Clinical studies show a significant hair reduction after 2 treatments and optimal results after 4-5 treatments.

4.Can I stop using the appliance after having reached an almost full hair free result?
No. An interval of 2 weeks for bikini area and underarms and 4 weeks for legs prevents that the hair root becomes active again.
